John Vincent
Managing Partner
Strategic adviser, change architect and accelerator
A trusted adviser to top teams of leading organisations, John is known for his expertise in facilitating collaboration and combines his marketing, political and operational experience with behavioural science to accelerate change.
He has more than 20 years' experience in strategy co-development, operating model design and change acceleration, combining conceptual and concrete thinking, imaginative creativity and analytical rigour, and personal drive and empathy to create momentum for change.
A prize-winning behavioural scientist from the University of Leeds, John started his career in the UK Civil Service Fast Stream advising government ministers on policy, implementation and speechwriting. He moved on to build and manage leading-edge consultancies, joining April Strategy in 2007.
He enjoys strategic storytelling and management, helping to build engagement across teams to generate motivation and create long-lasting change. He has taught customer centricity and human-centred design on executive education programmes at Warwick, King’s College, and Henley business schools.
John has used his strategic and operational expertise in the voluntary sector, including as former Chair of his local mental health charity Bradford District and Craven Mind, a cause which remains close to his heart and his fundraising cycle rides. He lives in Yorkshire with his family, where he enjoys exploring the Dales, and disappears from time to time on mountain adventures and motor racing circuits, where he can be found spectating, competing and occasionally crashing.
